Happy 3rd Birthday To Us!!

Inline Image

Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us!!  October is the month that the Team at in silico celebrate our 3rd birthday.  Our Team has doubled in size since we started out.  We have gone from 3 to 6 members in this short period.

Congratulations to the winners of the homemade cupcakes from our September newsletter - Peter T, Corina M and Robyn C.  Weren't they just adorable?  And thanks to our team member Roz for baking them :)

Congratulations are also in order for our Office Administrator Gina.  In her "spare" time, Gina is the Recruitment Coordinator for the WA branch of The Oaktree Foundation.  They recently won a Millennium Development Goals Award at the United Nations in New York, celebrating "significant and even miraculous achievements in the fight to end extreme poverty".  What a fantastic achievement!!

We are very happy to announce another addition to our team - Matt Cook.  Matt is creating awesome designs for our clients so watch this space to check out his handywork.

In previous newsletters we have mentioned that both Naomi and Gina are members of Soroptimist International.  On Friday 29 October they will be holding their biggest fundraiser for the year in support of Project SIerra :  A Family and a Future.  They are hoping to raise over $10,000 at this fun filled African themed night.

Support Soroptimist International Western Australia and enjoy "A Night in Africa" while raising funds to help families in Sierra Leone. Click here for all the details.

Why Your Website Matters

Have you ever thought about why you have a website or what outcome you desire from the site?

We talk to a lot of people who know they should have a website but aren't quite sure what they want it to do or why they should have it.

Some purely want an online brochure that they can send prospective clients to for more information about their company, products and services.  These people are often not interested in Search Engine Optimisation or improving their rankings as they will be directing people to their site.

Others are all about selling their goods or seminar tickets online and are therefore very interested in collecting email addresses and ranking highly in the search engines as this is where their primary source of business comes from.

There are many reasons for building a website, some of which include:

  • Selling products or services online
  • Providing extra information or support online for products and services
  • Introducing and promoting an organisation and its mission
  • Remaining competitive with other companies that are already online
  • Building a database
  • Getting the phone to ring for an appointment
  • Sharing information, artwork, writing or photos
  • Providing a community or forum

Remember that your prospects are searching Google right now for the product or service you offer.  If they don't find you, they will spend their dollars with your competitor.

You simply cannot afford not to have an effective, user-friendly, easy to find web presence if you want to stay in business.

Your website should matter to you as it may be the single most powerful way you can connect with people you can help. Need help with your website? Contact the Team at in silico TODAY on 9200 4431 for an appointment.

What Do You Look For On The Web?

There are many reasons why you would log onto the internet on any give day.  Some of the reasons include the following:

✦ To research, compare, and purchase products

✦ To find and interact with other people (business colleagues, friends, romantic interests)

✦ To get daily news and information delivered in real time

✦ To search for and find information about any topic or organisation of interest

✦ To deliver and promote your own messages and products to others on the Web

✦ To watch or listen to events, online and otherwise, delivered in a variety of audio and video formats

✦ To educate yourself via online classes and enrolment in universities

✦ To play games and entertain yourself

✦ To complete all sorts of personal and professional tasks that can be done securely online, such as online banking, personal finance, investing, tax submission, travel, donating, and procurement

So how could clients/prospects use your website better? Email the Team at admin@insilico.com.au for a complimentary review of your site.

Closing Thoughts

Have you been enjoying our monthly webinars?  We would love to hear your feedback.

Are there any topics that you would like to learn more about.  Tell us what you want to know and we will see what we can do.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported us in our growth over the past 3 years. It is you that have helped us get to where we are today.

Our quote for October is from Antoine de Saint Exupery  -

"You know you have achieved perfection in design; not when you have nothing more to add, but when you have nothing more to take away."

Best regards,
Naomi and Paul
